Why do bloggers stop writing blogs? Why You Shouldn’t Do It

So, like an estimated 200 million others, you’ve established a blog. What are you going to do to make yourself stand out if you don’t want to waste your time writing a blog that no one will read? Are you going to do exactly what the rest of the world is doing? That’s unusual…

Google undoubtedly hasn’t kept track of how many blogs have been launched by people who believe the world needs to hear their tale, only to be abandoned a few months later.

Excuses

The list of justifications is endless, but they usually revolve around:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t have the time.”

“I’m at a loss for what to write about.”

“I became disinterested”

“No one was reading my blog,”

Let’s look at some of the aforementioned reasons, which are frequently the result of a lack of planning:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t have the time.”

Unless your circumstances alter, you should be aware of how much time you have each week to devote to your blog. A blog should have at least one post per week to be relevant, so even if you only have an hour or so over the course of seven days, it will suffice to keep your blog updated with new content.

“I’m at a loss for what to write about.”

This has to be the most ridiculous excuse of the bunch. Any blogger who thinks they have nothing to write about is either not working hard enough or is not as knowledgeable about their subject as they would like to believe. Create a content strategy and a schedule for what topics you’ll cover over the coming weeks and months. If all else fails, look at what other bloggers are writing about for ideas.

“I became disinterested”

You started your blog because you were so passionate about your topic that you felt compelled to write about it for people to read, and then you lost interest? Consider whether you’ve lost interest in the topic you’re writing about or in blogging itself. If it is your subject, write about something else; if it is blogging, you are doing it incorrectly (more on this later).

“No one was reading my blog,”

Have you attempted to market your blog? Have you not even shared a single social media post? So, how do you suppose a reader would find your blog otherwise? By typing johnskitchencounter.wordpress.com into a search engine? You’re more capable than that.

Continue to be inspired.

You won’t get tens of thousands of visitors overnight if you start a blog. It necessitates a great deal of patience and even more effort. As previously said, you should be able to keep your blog updated with at least one weekly article in less than an hour per week. Never undervalue the importance of content.

If you’re losing interest in your blog, how do you think your readers are feeling? Instead of depending on heavy text-based material, do something different and create graphics for your blog and social media pages to keep your page fresh. Bloggers who aren’t as creative in Photoshop as they are in Word will benefit from services like Doppler Graphics.

Take a new attitude to your blog and social media accounts; after all, if you can’t be bothered to post, why should readers bother to visit your blog?

Organize Events

It’s easy to feel as if you’re just writing for the sake of blogging, with no particular end objective in mind. So why not plan an event that you can write about on your blog? This will provide you with something unique to blog about and will aid in the promotion of your business, allowing you to gain more authority in your sector.

You may utilize your blog and/or social media profiles to advertise an event in a variety of ways, and if done right, you could make a handsome profit from it. Many bloggers have hosted their own events, taking advantage of their website’s fame, whether they be physical events or virtual events (such as competitions, giveaways, and so on…).

After reading this, I hope you feel re-energized and inspired to log back into your blog and get back on the horse. If you’re bored with what you’re doing, it’s time to switch things up!
